Manual Spin

Control how users interact with your 360° view through manual spin settings.

Manual spin controls how users interact with your 360° view using mouse or touch gestures. This feature determines the responsiveness and behavior of user-controlled rotation.

Manual Spin Settings

Direction Control

  • Clockwise: Follows natural mouse movement direction
  • Counter-clockwise: Reverses the spin direction
  • Recommendation: Use clockwise for most products

Interaction Methods

  • Click & Drag: Users must click and drag to spin
  • Hover Over: Spins automatically when mouse hovers over the viewer
  • Mobile: Always uses touch and drag regardless of setting

Sensitivity Control

  • Range: 1-5 (1 = slow, 5 = fast)
  • Default: 3 (balanced)
  • Purpose: Controls how much the viewer spins relative to mouse movement

Inertia Settings

  • Range: -1 to 5
  • Negative Values: Creates resistance, slows down spin
  • Positive Values: Creates momentum, continues spinning after mouse release
  • Zero: Immediate stop when mouse is released

Settle Speed

  • Range: 0-500 RPM
  • Purpose: Controls how quickly the viewer settles to a stop
  • Higher Values: Faster settling
  • Lower Values: Slower, more gradual settling

Interaction Types Explained

Click & Drag

  • Best For: Precise control, detailed inspection
  • User Experience: Requires active engagement
  • Use Cases: Product detail pages, technical products

Hover Over

  • Best For: Quick previews, casual browsing
  • User Experience: Passive interaction
  • Use Cases: Product listings, gallery views

Sensitivity Guidelines

Low Sensitivity (1-2)

  • Use For: Delicate products, precise positioning
  • Examples: Jewelry, watches, small electronics
  • User Control: High precision required

Medium Sensitivity (3)

  • Use For: Most general products
  • Examples: Clothing, shoes, general merchandise
  • User Control: Balanced interaction

High Sensitivity (4-5)

  • Use For: Large products, quick browsing
  • Examples: Furniture, vehicles, large equipment
  • User Control: Fast navigation

Inertia Settings

Negative Inertia (-1 to 0)

  • Effect: Creates resistance, slows down movement
  • Use For: Precise control, preventing overshooting
  • Best For: Technical products requiring accuracy

Zero Inertia (0)

  • Effect: Immediate stop when interaction ends
  • Use For: Precise positioning, step-by-step viewing
  • Best For: Detailed product inspection

Positive Inertia (1-5)

  • Effect: Continues spinning after mouse release
  • Use For: Smooth, natural movement
  • Best For: General browsing, casual interaction

Mobile Optimization

On mobile devices, manual spin automatically uses touch and drag interaction regardless of your desktop settings. This ensures optimal performance and user experience across all devices.

Performance Considerations

High Sensitivity Impact

  • May cause faster battery drain on mobile devices
  • Can increase data usage with frequent interactions
  • Consider user’s device capabilities

Inertia Impact

  • Higher inertia values may feel less responsive
  • Lower inertia provides more immediate feedback
  • Balance between smoothness and responsiveness

Troubleshooting

Unresponsive Interaction

  1. Check that manual spin is enabled
  2. Verify sensitivity settings are appropriate
  3. Ensure your 360° view has sufficient frames

Jerky Movement

  1. Increase the number of frames in your sequence
  2. Adjust sensitivity settings
  3. Check device performance capabilities

Inconsistent Behavior

  1. Verify settings are saved properly
  2. Test on different devices and browsers
  3. Check for conflicting customization settings
